2007 The first Euromed Postal Convention :

Leveraging growth

Postal services play a key economic, social and territorial-development role: they help the countries they serve flourish. They facilitate exchanges and provide services, reach a broad variety of targets, honour their corporate social responsibility and help businesses thrive. They walk side by side with societies on the road to development.

Their role emphasizes the need to focus on enhancing performance and nurturing effective co-operation.

Euromed Postal will gather postal-sector players from countries across the European Union and around the southern and eastern Mediterranean rim.Its top priorities will include:

• improving postal-service operation and efficiency to support development and promote economic integration across the Euro-Med area,

• promoting the key role that postal services as a whole play in their countries,

• encouraging cooperation.

This Convention will not be just another symposium the minutes of which will be shelved calmly. Euromed Postal will mark the launching of a platform for exchanging points of views in order to build a network of efficient operators.
